Bishop Declan Lang's Statement on Iraq

Iraq’s communities have been traumatised by the fighting and the subsequent fragmentation of the Iraqi state. Political parties need to heed the call made by Patriarch Louis Raphael Sako I of Baghdad to come together to form a government of national unity that would allow a chance to end the present crisis and to build a state in which the rights and dignity of all Iraqis can be respected.

Rt Rev Ralph Heskett Installed third Bishop of Hallam

The Rt Rev Ralph Heskett has been Installed the third Bishop of Hallam. The Mass of Installation took place in St Marie's Cathedral in Sheffield on Thursday 10 July 2014. Bishop Heskett succeeds Bishop John Rawsthorne who served Hallam as Bishop for just over 17 years.

Archbishop Malcolm McMahon receives the Pallium from Pope Francis

I was honoured and privileged to receive the pallium from the hands of our Holy Father Pope Francis in St Peter’s Basilica last Sunday, the Solemnity of Ss Peter & Paul. The pallium is a symbol of communion between the Holy Father, the Successor of St Peter, and the Archbishop and the Churches of his province, and It was a very humbling moment when I knelt before the Holy Father and he placed the pallium on my shoulders.
