Cardinal Patrick D'Rozario - Bangladesh's first Catholic Cardinal

Today's Catholic News podcast looks east to Bangladesh, a country of 160 million people - 360,000 of whom are Catholics. That's a mere 0.2% of the population. But the Church is vibrant and thriving despite its minority status in a majority Muslim country. The English Bishop with a diocese ten times the size of Britain

Pope Francis has appointed an English missionary to be bishop of a diocese that covers 2,000,000 kms2 in Algeria. Bishop-elect John MacWilliam is originally from Wimbledon and was educated in Sussex. He joined the British Army and saw active service in Northern Ireland and Oman before joining the Missionaries of Africa (known as the White Fathers).
