Bishop Kenney tells the people of war-torn South Sudan that they ‘are not forgotten’

Bishop William Kenney has called on all Catholics to pray for their brothers and sisters in the South Sudan as they undergo the trauma of war and famine. They are ‘a Church that is small and regarded at times suspiciously by the authorities.’

Anti-Slavery Day Award for Manager of Caritas Bakhita House

Karen Anstiss, Manager of Caritas Bakhita House, the refuge for women rescued from human trafficking and modern slavery, has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to the fight against modern slavery in the voluntary sector by the Marsh Christian Trust in partnership with the Human Trafficking Foundation at the Anti-Slavery Day Awards.

The annual meeting of the Eastern Catholic Bishops in Europe is to take place this year in London (Great Britain), at the invitation of His Grace Mgr Hlib Lonchyna, Bishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Family of London, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Apostolic Exarchate for the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic faithful in Great Britain. The Exarchate was elevated to the status of an Eparchy in 2003.
